The 2010 ADS Fall Board Meeting & Intermediate Symposium *open to all ADS members and their guests with advance reservation.

1. Garden of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bier-within two miles of the hotel.
2. Historic Josias Clapham’s Ferry Farm near Leesburg, VA. Owned by Mr. and Mrs. Travis Worsham
3. Steven F.Udvar-Hazy Center, (part of the National Air and Space Museum - minutes from Dulles Airport)This tour is on your own and no lunch or admission fee are included. We will provide transportation to the museum. They have shuttle service to Dulles Airport.

*to attend the tours, please schedule your flight out after 5pm on Sunday

Optional Tours:
A terrific private garden owned by Mr. and Mrs. Richard Bier is within two miles of the hotel. Peg Bier, perennial plant manager of the Fairfax Merrifield Garden Center, is very knowledgeable about all aspects of gardening as is evidenced by her near 2 acre garden, landscaped and planted thru the eyes of an artist. We won’t see daffodils in October, but there is much to explore. Peg’s garden has evolved over the 30 years she has lived in her home. She is a friend of Kathy Welsh who will tell you this is one of the finest home gardens she has ever seen. You won’t want to miss this opportunity. A definite “must see”!

If history and gardening are among your interests we have just the place for you. The Clapham’s Ferry Farm was started as a land-grant in the 1600’s to Josias Clapham, a friend of George Washington. The current owners, Travis and Suzi Worsham, have worked for 6 years reclaiming pastures, renovating the 1700’s home and buildings, creating gardens and a polo field and so much more, but maintaining the historic values so important to the farm and location. Suzi has developed yellow fever which is quite evident in the spring. This too is a “must see” location.

Air and Space Museum on your own:
Located just minutes from the Dulles International Airport is The Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center, Chantilly, VA-- part of the National Air and Space Museum. This is a wonderful opportunity to explore and take advantage of the world of aviation. Free admission – pay parking. Tour could take about 2 hours if desired. Check website for detailed information.

Directions from Jonesboro: from Highway 167 take 147 and go about 12 miles until you run into Highway 34,take a right and go a mile plus and see field on left with a towering Pecan tree.

April 10 - Daffodil Festival in Washington State in the Seattle Tacoma area! In 2007, this festival hosted one of the most enjoyable ADS National Conventions. See their web site for scheduled festival events throughout the month of April.

April 10-11 - Amity Daffodil Festival in Amity Oregon. The Amity Daffodil Festival is an educational program of Amity School District 4J and is produced by the Hospitality, Tourism and Recreation class of Amity High School in cooperation with the Oregon Daffodil Society,

April 23 - 25 - Nantucket Island Daffodil Festival attend and join the fun parade, featuring over 100 daffodil bedecked antique cars.

April 24 - 25 - 32nd Annual Meriden Daffodil Festival in Hubbard Park of Meriden Connecticut.
